Job Description:

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Job Responsibility:

Managing user permissions and security settings within the Cognos environment
Collaborating with business users to understand their reporting and data analysis needs
Designing and developing data models to support reporting and analytical applications
Experience for migrating the code to higher environment and support infra related activities
Training and guiding the users on Adhoc reporting
Provides technical leadership to team members
Diagnosing and resolving issues with Cognos solutions and user problems
Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts to identify and define necessary system enhancements
Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions
Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions

Requirements:

5+ years of relevant and strong experience in Cognos
Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
Strong skills and experience in IBM Cognos software to build reports, dashboards, and scorecards
Very Strong & Experience of SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
Very strong Knowledge and Experience of data warehousing principles, table structures, database keys
Performance Tuning Optimizing reports and data models
Database Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices
Data Visualization: Experience with creating effective data visualizations
Familiarity with big data platforms is a plus
Experience with Jira, Light speed /Jenkins/RLM, GitHub
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines

Nice to have:

Familiarity with big data platforms
Experience with Jira, Light speed /Jenkins/RLM, GitHub
