Job Description:

Baptist Health is hiring a Coding Supervisor to join our Physician Coding team in Jacksonville, FL.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assists the PB Coding Manager in effectively and efficiently supervising and coordinating the the day to day operations of the assigned coding team
  • Effectively monitors and manages outstanding charges and coding denials while adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in codaing-related matters and collaborates on the preparation of written and verbal training materials to ensure consistent application of coding concepts
  • Participates in developing and conducting education to staff and providers regarding coding and billing issues within assigned specialties

Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years Coding Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Leadership Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Outpatient Coding Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Medical Billing Experience Required
  • Knowledge of regulatory protocols. Required
  • High School Diploma Required
  • CPC Certification or CCS-P Certification Required

  • Report or resolve escalated issues as necessary
  • Responsible for reviewing Clinician documentation and billed codes for Medical Group physicians and non-physician clinicians
  • Review of medical records in collaboration with key stakeholders such as Internal Audit, Compliance, and Clinic Operations
  • Responsible for completing all certified coder quality reviews
  • Working in collaboration with Coding Production Leads and Supervisors
  • Follows the prospective and/or retrospective review plan to sample employed Clinician's medical record documentation in comparison to services selected for billing, based on best practice methodologies which will be presented and reviewed with Clinicians to provide feedback on proper coding and documentation practices
