This position will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrocoating and powder coating machinery and related equipment under the direction of Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance staff. It will also be responsible for training of the Maintenance staff while being a key point of contact in the Paint department.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain and troubleshoot electrocoating and powder coating machinery and related equipment
Train Maintenance staff
Be a key point of contact in the Paint department
Support daily production scheduled through the timely troubleshooting and repair of faulty equipment, both electrical and/or mechanical in nature
Independently diagnose machinery issues (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, etc.) and conduct root cause analysis to produce recommendations for process improvements, downtime reduction, or machinery enhancements
Collect and analyze data to ensure machine performance is maintained
Perform daily chemical analysis on liquid e-coat samples (pH, conductivity, % solids, titrations)
Work with Engineering team to identify & support projects focused on improving the safety, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes
Maintain effective lines of communication between manufacturing personnel, supervisory personnel, and management as required
Support the development, implementation, enhancement, execution of an effective preventative maintenance (PM) program to ensure consistent equipment performance
Interface with eMaint computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) system
Assist in maintaining spare part inventories, including cataloguing of components, establishing min/max inventory levels, and ordering spares as needed
Maintain and document repair history for use in trend analysis
Close work orders
Observe all safety practices while on the manufacturing floor and while running equipment
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Requirements:
2 yr. Associates degree or technical school preferred
Experience in the maintenance and operation of automated production equipment
Experience in any of the following is a plus: Metal finishing
Experience in the maintenance of automated equipment and its operation to include electro/mechanical troubleshooting of pneumatics and industrial controls and the ability to facilitate necessary repairs once issues are properly identified
Basic understanding of mechanical processing equipment including pumps, heat exchangers, filtration, and ovens
Ability to communicate equipment issues, present information, and respond to questions from Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance management in an accurate and technical manner
Understanding of PM and TPM strategies and how they relate to the management of industrial automation
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical drawings
Proficient in MS Office applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel)
Ability to independently define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw logical conclusions, and generate actionable steps based on that information
