Coaching Assistant, Men's Rugby

• Assistant coach to the head coach, coaching all positions and both 7’s and 15’s
• Work primarily with newer players who are part of the developmental team
• Some crossover with our first and second teams
• Have a good working knowledge of the Laws of Rugby Football and be capable of refereeing both team scrimmages and matches

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3-5 years of Rugby playing experience, at least five (5) years, preferred
• 3-5 years of Rugby coaching experience preferred
• preferably with both 15s and 7s at the collegiate level, the club level, or higher
• USA Rugby Level 200 coaching certification or higher
• Technical knowledge coaching both forward play (scrum and lineout) and backline positions for 15s and 7s
• Possess a strong understanding of the fundamental skills of rugby
• Be able to teach these skills to players with limited to no experience
• Provide a safe and enjoyable learning environment
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Rugby referee experience/registration, helpful
• Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment
• Successful completion of a criminal background check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment
• Maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification
