We are seeking a Co-Lead Legal Expert with strong specialization in intellectual property and/or unfair competition law for an EUIPO study on parasitic copying, look-alikes, copycats and duplicates. The legal component will analyse the EU-level framework and the 27 EU Member States, with a specific focus on unfair competition rules, relevant terminology and glossary, enforcement challenges, litigation trends, and a case-law collection of key judgments.
Job Responsibility
Lead the legal component of the study
Oversee analysis of EU and national legal frameworks
Ensure consistency of legal research across jurisdictions
Supervise selection and analysis of key parasitic-copying judgments
Contribute to glossary, legal analysis, interim report and final report
Requirements
Proven academic legal background
At least 5 years of experience
Strong expertise in IP law and/or unfair competition law
Strong knowledge of legal frameworks, case law, and practical/theoretical aspects of IP and unfair competition
Excellent legal drafting skills in English
Nice to have
LL.M., PhD or advanced specialization in IP, competition or unfair competition law
Experience in comparative legal research across EU jurisdictions
Experience drafting or supervising case-law summaries, legal reports or litigation trend analyses
Familiarity with packaging, branding, trade dress, e-commerce, digital replicas/deepfakes and AI-related legal issues
