Job Description

This role will support small-batch CNC turning of high-specification transmission components used within demanding engineering environments including motorsport and aerospace. This is a weekend shift position, operating Friday to Sunday with 12-hour shifts, commencing March 2026.

Job Responsibility

  • Manufacture precision components using CNC turning machines in line with engineering drawings and production route cards
  • Ensure components are produced to the highest quality standards within allocated production times
  • Read, interpret, and adjust CNC programmes, including optimisation of speeds and feeds where required
  • Conduct in-process inspection and quality checks to maintain dimensional accuracy
  • Work collaboratively with the wider manufacturing team to support efficient production flow and delivery targets
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the machining environment
  • Provide flexibility in supporting other areas of manufacturing when required
  • Assist with additional hours where necessary to support production deadlines

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with CNC turning machines within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and route cards to produce components accurately and efficiently
  • Experience using Fanuc controls (essential)
  • Familiarity with Siemens controls (advantageous)
  • Ability to read, understand and edit CNC programmes
  • Good understanding of cutting tools, turning tips, and their correct application
  • Experience operating manual lathes or Harrison Alpha 400 Plus NC lathe would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team environment

  • Familiarity with Siemens controls
  • Experience operating manual lathes or Harrison Alpha 400 Plus NC lathe
