We’re supporting a leading precision engineering manufacturer near Uxbridge who are seeking a CNC Supervisor to lead their Machine Shop team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring production targets, quality standards, and team performance are consistently achieved, while developing and motivating a team of skilled CNC machinists. With a 7am–5pm, 7-on / 7-off shift pattern, this role provides a rare opportunity to earn a competitive salary while enjoying an excellent work-life balance.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise CNC machining operations to meet production, quality, and output targets
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of machinists to maintain high performance and safe working practices
  • Allocate workloads effectively to optimise machine and manpower utilisation
  • Resolve technical and operational issues to minimise downtime
  • Oversee inspection, quality checks, and continuous improvement activities
  • Conduct appraisals, manage performance, and maintain accurate production records

Requirements

  • Strong background in CNC machining (turning, milling, or precision engineering)
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Confident interpreting engineering drawings and inspection requirements
  • Familiar with MRP/ERP systems (SAP experience advantageous)
  • Methodical, proactive, and confident managing a team

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for PLC and distributed I/O control systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc)
  • Identify root causes of equipment issues and oversee corrective actions to ensure asset reliability
  • Conduct safety audits, enforce safety regulations, and provide training to team members on lockout/tag-out and other safety procedures
  • Create, present, and analyze performance reports, including downtime and cost savings opportunities, to management and clients
  • Develop, monitor, and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance practices to maximize efficiency and equipment uptime
