Job Description

AWF is currently seeking motivated individuals for two exciting roles in Hawkes Bay. Whether you're an experienced CNC Programmer or a hands-on Assembly Technician, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibility

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files
  • Create CNC programs using appropriate software
  • Set up CNC machines and select appropriate tools
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure quality output
  • Conduct quality checks and measurements of finished parts
  • Troubleshoot issues and improve machining processes
  • Maintain machines and tools for safe, effective operation
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams
  • Support machinists with general workshop duties
  • Assemble mechanical and electrical machines and components
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Test assembled equipment to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area
  • Complete paperwork accurately and promptly
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of CNC programming experience
  • Strong understanding of machining techniques and CNC software
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control standards
  • Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
  • Must hold a valid visa or New Zealand residency
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems (a plus)
  • Excellent communication and process-following ability
  • All Applicants will have to pass a Drug Screen and MOJ Check

  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC systems and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Support robotic systems including ABB, Fanuc, and Panasonic robots for fault recovery, repairs, and program adjustments
  • Install and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, panels, and power distribution systems for manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshoot presses, conveyors, robotic cells, CNC equipment, injection molding machines, and automated assembly lines
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
