Job Responsibility

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to cut, drill, or mill metal parts
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for every job
  • Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Maintain a clean and safe workstation at all times
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Document production numbers and any equipment issues
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
  • Monitor machine performance and make small adjustments as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a Machine Operator or CNC Operator
  • Full schedule flexibility to work both day and afternoon shifts
  • Physical capability to repeatedly lift and move materials up to 50 lbs
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE protocols
  • Reliable transportation to the job location in St. Thomas, Ontario
  • High school diploma or equivalent technical trade certification is preferred
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator or in a similar production role
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret industrial blueprints
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy components safely

  • Interpret work orders, setup sheets, and drawings to ensure accurate part fabrication
  • Monitor machine operations and make on-the-fly adjustments to maintain quality and prevent downtime
  • Handle raw materials and finished parts, ensuring proper labeling and organization
  • Conduct routine part inspections using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.) to verify conformity to specifications
  • Identify and report quality issues or machine malfunctions to supervisors or programmers
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning machines, changing bits, and maintaining a safe and organized work area
  • Assist with unloading, staging, and post-processing of cut parts (e.g., sanding, de-tab, edge prepping)
