We're working with a highly regarded precision engineering business operating at the cutting edge of sectors such as scientific, medical and advanced manufacturing. They are looking to bring in an experienced CNC Miller with strong programming capability to join their growing team. Job Responsibility:
Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
Working across 3, 4 and 5 axis machinery
Online programming using Heidenhain controls
Manufacturing large, complex components to tight tolerances
Interpreting engineering drawings to produce right-first-time parts
Creating setup documentation and tooling layouts for repeatability
Carrying out self-inspection using appropriate measuring equipment
Supporting and mentoring other team members where required
Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment
Requirements:
Strong experience in CNC milling (programming, setting and operating)
Proven experience with Heidenhain controls (essential)
Experience with 5 axis machining
Ability to machine large components (up to ~2.5m)
Experience working to tight tolerances
Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Able to carry out own inspection and quality checks
Reliable, proactive and quality-driven mindset
Nice to have:
Experience with Fanuc controls
Background using machines such as Doosan, Matsuura or Mazak
Overhead crane or manual handling training
Apprenticeship-trained background
