The CNC Machinist will be responsible for production and post-processing of medical devices. Common secondary processes include cutting, deburring, media blasting, polishing, filing, cleaning, and packaging. This role will be focused on operating machine shop equipment including but not limited to CNC Mills, Turning centers, Wire EDMs and Bandsaws.

Understand the objectives, responsibilities, and mission of the Sterility & Lot Release department and work towards those goals
Prioritize and plan work activities
adapt for changing conditions
Operation of multi axis machines (3-axis mill/turn, 5-axis mill/turn and Wire EDM)
Setting of tooling and making tool offsets
Run programs developed on CAM software such as Mastercam
Interpret engineering specifications and drawings
Perform equipment maintenance
Support transfer activities requiring CNC equipment
Ensure high quality production in adherence with industry standards
Create sustainable manufacturing processes, programs, and fixtures
Follow all appropriate safety precautions, including usage of PPE and maintaining facility cleanliness
Dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured goods as part of quality-controlled process
Collaborate with programmer and engineering to improve processes
Requirements:
Highschool diploma or GED required
Associates or post-secondary education preferred
3 years of CNC Mill or Lathe set up and operation
Minimum 4 years of machine shop experience
Proficiency with CAM and CAD software such as Mastercam and Solidworks
Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
Ability to work in a regulated industry including adherence to good documentation practices and good quality practices
Strong visualization and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work accurately in a fast-paced, hectic, ever-changing environment with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to monitor own work to ensure quality, accuracy, and thoroughness
Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
Able to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team
Machine shop tooling such as cutters, bandsaws, and basic handheld tools
Working with CNC equipment such as Mill, EDM and lathe, furnaces, direct Metal Printers, polymeric 3D Printers, media blasting cabinets, testing frames, cleaning and inspection equipment
Position may involve handling of ultra-fine, medical grade, metallic powder, handling of other tooling, components, raw materials and waste material applicable to the manufacture of medical devices
Knowledge of respirator and fire-retardant PPE
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Operate while wearing protective equipment
Repetitive movements such as periods of standing, working with hands and tools, squatting, kneeling and moving up and down ladders
