Job Description

CNC Machinist - Turning role in a well-established precision engineering environment in Wigston, Leicester, with plenty of overtime and shift allowance available. Working with modern equipment and high standards to produce precision components to extremely tight tolerances.

Job Responsibility

  • Set and run CNC Turning Lathes
  • Machine high-precision components to tight deadlines
  • Carry out in-process checks using micrometers, digital callipers, shadow graph and laser micrometer
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Machine parts to tolerances as tight as 0.010mm / 10 microns
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously
  • Maintain accurate machining records and TPM documentation
  • Follow manufacturing procedures, quality standards and H&S guidelines
  • Protect confidentiality of customer information
  • Consistently deliver high-quality, accurate work

Requirements

  • Experience setting and operating CNC turning machinery
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings
  • Precision machining experience across various materials
  • Confident use of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, shadow graph, laser micrometer)
  • A commitment to accuracy, quality and safe working practices
