Machinist II is a machinist who is proficient in CNC mills or lathes. Skill level exceeds that of the Machinist I. Must be able to do basic CNC programming and process engineering. Must be able to do complex set ups with minimal instructions.
Job Responsibility:
Own basic hand tools required for machinist trade
Basic program, set up, and operate CNC mill, lathe, and basic shop powered tools
Read drawings, follow verbal instructions, and utilize basic mathematical skills to complete required tasks
Inspect own work using standard measuring tools such as callipers, micrometre, and pin gages
Maintain a current status in field of expertise through continuing education and appliable trade shows
Work with SolidWorks solid models to create control programs for machines
Requirements:
3-5 years’ experience in machining and CAM programming
Ability to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
Ability to read and interpret drawings with GD&T per ASME 14.5
Knowledge of various metals, plastics, machine shop operations
Effective time management
Excellent communication skills
