Amentum is seeking a CNC Machine Repair Technician II to join our 2nd shift team in Lafayette, IN. In this role, you will apply your intermediate-level expertise to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility machine tool equipment in an industrial environment. Job Responsibility

  • Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on CNC machine tools and industrial electrical systems
  • Identify and address safety risks and conduct independent equipment evaluations to prevent failures
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including lockout/tag-out procedures and proper PPE usage
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to resolve equipment issues effectively
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, process, and product-related issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and document all work performed
  • Provide clear feedback to customers on work orders while maintaining compliance with codes and industry standards
  • Suggest improvements to maintenance methods and identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance
  • Operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, computers, and test hardware to complete maintenance tasks
  • Exhibit flexibility to manage daily priorities and adjust work schedules as needed
  • Perform general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities, or equipment in a commercial/industrial environment OR a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet using scissor lifts or aerial lifts
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization

Nice to have

  • Associate's degree in industrial electrical or a related field
  • Experience working safely with 480V 3-phase circuits
  • Expertise troubleshooting and repairing electric motors, motor controls, and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with PC-based work order systems for managing maintenance tasks and reporting
