Active certification as a Nurse Assistant on the Nebraska and/or Iowa Nurse Aide Registry depending on the state worked
Basic Life Support is required upon hire
Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications – American Heart Association: Basic Life Support
Skilled Nursing Facility Only: Must have successfully completed the 75-hour state approved course for Nursing Assistant if hired into the Nursing Assistant position after April 30, 1998
Knowledge of current Certified Nursing Assistant scope of practice, critical thinking skills, professional verbal and written communication skills, technical/computer skills, attention to detail, customer service skills, adaptability, maintain confidentiality

Job Responsibility

Provides basic nursing care and assists with activities of daily living to a designated group of healthcare consumers
Creates an organized work environment that is conducive to efficient workflow for the clinical staff
Provides services which encompass the spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care of the sick, prevention of disease, or conservation of health
Contributes to the assessment of the health status of the healthcare consumer
Contributes to the plan of care through observation, data collection and communication of findings to the appropriate member of the multidisciplinary team
Provides basic patient care activities based on the plan of care and as delegated
Contributes to the evaluation of the healthcare consumer by observing responses to interventions and communicating findings to the appropriate member of the multidisciplinary team
Documents cares provided in the healthcare consumer’s record
Demonstrates personal and professional responsibility for ongoing development, practice, and education
Maintains a safe work environment
