The Restorative Nursing Assistant is a Certified Nursing Assistant that has been given additional training in the area of rehabilitation which provides restorative care to the assigned residents.
Job Responsibility:
Assume the responsibility for specific tasks as directed by the Restorative/Charge Nurse
Transport residents to and from appointments in house when applicable
Coordinates Restorative Programs with other departments as needed to ensure Program is not missed
Able to clearly follow the written word, document resident outcomes on a daily basis, and communicate changes observed or voiced to immediate supervisor
Participates in implementing and gives opinion with the development of individual resident restorative program
Provides specific Restorative program(s) as per residents’ plan of care after receiving additional training in aspects of restorative Nursing
reports changes noted to the charge nurse, nursing supervisor, ADON in a timely manner
Participates in the Restorative meetings
Works collaboratively with the Therapy Department to ensure appropriate restorative activities
Ensures that all adaptive equipment necessary for individual restorative program is readily available, clean and in good working order
Completes all required restorative documentation
May complete the Quarterly Restorative note which will be reviewed and signed off by the License Nurse
Answer call bells and alarms promptly
Obtain and record vital signs as needed
Report to charge nurse and/or unit manager, supervisor, DON any changes in condition and/or behavior of resident
Attend unit conferences and in-service programs as assigned
Comply with facility policies and procedures including fire prevention and safety standards
Regular attendance required
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant
Minimum 1 year of experience
Minimum High School education
Must be proficient in motivating residents
Must be able to communicate clearly, read and write
Must be proficient in reading and writing and understand the spoken and written word
Must be able to apply good sound nursing judgement while applying the Nurse Practice Act
Must have some computer skills
Must be able to hear with corrective or adaptive devices and see adequately with corrective eyewear
Must have simple computational skills such as addition, subtractions, multiplication, division and percentages
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend at knees and waist, push and pull, turn and lift a minimum of 20lbs
Must complete the State approved training and competency evaluation program for nurse aide
Must be competent to provide nursing and nursing related services as demonstrated in the nurse aide registry
Employment is contingent on successful completion of the pre-placement physical and criminal background check
