The Restorative Nursing Assistant is a Certified Nursing Assistant that has been given additional training in the area of rehabilitation which provides restorative care to the assigned residents.
Job Responsibility:
Transport residents to and from appointments in house
Coordinates Restorative Programs with other departments
Follow written word, document resident outcomes daily, communicate changes to supervisor
Participate in implementing and giving opinion on development of individual resident restorative program
Provide specific Restorative program(s) as per residents’ plan of care
Report changes to charge nurse, nursing supervisor, ADON
Participate in Restorative meetings
Work collaboratively with Therapy Department
Ensure adaptive equipment is available, clean, and in working order
Complete all required restorative documentation
May complete Quarterly Restorative note
Answer call bells and alarms promptly
Obtain and record vital signs as needed
Report changes in condition/behavior of resident
Attend unit conferences and in-service programs
Comply with facility policies and procedures including fire prevention and safety standards
Regular attendance required
Requirements:
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant
Must have additional training in rehabilitation/restorative care
Must be proficient in motivating residents
Must be able to communicate clearly, read, and write
Minimum 1 year of experience
Minimum High School education
Must be able to follow written instructions and document outcomes
Must be able to apply good sound nursing judgement
Must have some computer skills
Must be able to hear with corrective devices and see with corrective eyewear
Must have simple computational skills
Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, push, pull, turn, and lift a minimum of 20lbs
Must complete State approved training and competency evaluation program for nurse aide
Must be competent to provide nursing services as demonstrated in the nurse aide registry
