An opportunity has arisen for a CMO / Senior Registrar with an interest in Oncology to join a dedicated cancer care service in Australia. The role focuses on the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of oncology patients across outpatient and inpatient settings. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to high-quality, patient-centred cancer care while supporting service coordination, clinical decision-making, and continuity of care.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct clinical assessments and reviews of oncology patients receiving chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy
Provide ongoing outpatient care for cancer patients in collaboration with consultants and multidisciplinary teams
Perform inpatient consultations for oncology patients admitted under other specialities
Work closely with consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
Facilitate effective communication between oncology services and wider hospital teams, including emergency care pathways
Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and contribute to collaborative clinical decision-making
Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and service development activities
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to patient safety and governance standards
Requirements:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
Eligibility for registration with the relevant medical board in Australia
Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Experience working at the CMO / Senior Registrar level or equivalent
Experience in Oncology or managing oncology patients in acute or outpatient settings
Ability to manage complex clinical cases within a multidisciplinary environment
Minimum 1 year of NHS experience
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities
Ability to manage workload effectively in a structured clinical environment
Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development
Nice to have:
Postgraduate qualification or training in Oncology or related speciality
Experience in chemotherapy and/or radiation oncology services
