Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Activities, the Club Sports & UR FOOT Program Assistant supports key operational, risk-management, and participant engagement functions for the Club Sports Program and the UR FOOT (First-Year Orientation Outing Treks) Program. The role provides direct assistance to professional staff, helps ensure compliance with safety and administrative requirements, and contributes to a positive and well-organized experience for student participants.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with distributing and managing Club Sports medical kits, supplies, uniforms, and additional equipment
Support ongoing inventory and restocking needs for teams and EMT staff
Conduct weekly or bi-weekly Club Sports storage and equipment inventory checks
assist with overall equipment management
Attending home competitions and tournaments, when available, to serve as a program representative, monitor safety and compliance, and uphold sportsmanship aligned with university values
Compile team game schedules into a master document to support program planning and EMT scheduling
Coordinate with Club Sports teams and EMTs to confirm appropriate medical staffing for home games and competitions
Process and track all Club Sports Risk and Liability Waivers
Verify that every student athlete has a completed waiver before practices or competitions
Serve as the primary point of contact for UR FOOT participant questions and needs
Send acceptance emails, track responses, and manage communications with waitlisted students
Assist in training Trek Leaders on social programming, group management, and engagement strategies
Supervise and attend UR FOOT treks (late August) and activities, including kayaking, indoor rock climbing, and evening social programs
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or higher
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and outside partners
Comfort enforcing compliance expectations and safety procedures
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Willingness to attend events and activities that may occur on evenings or weekends
Nice to have:
Prior experience in recreation, outdoor programs, athletics, or student leadership is helpful but not required.
