We are looking for a versatile Cloud Platform Engineer with deep expertise in both AWS and Azure to join a high-impact team supporting a major government initiative. This role is focused on the design, automation, and long-term management of secure cloud infrastructure that powers critical public services.
Job Responsibility:
Infrastructure Design & Execution: Create and deploy robust, multi-cloud architectures
End-to-End Automation: Streamline operations by automating the deployment of applications and services via CI/CD pipelines
Security & Governance: Implement rigorous security protocols and "security-by-design" principles
Resource Optimization: Analyse cloud usage patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and performance bottlenecks
Observability & Reliability: Monitor system health and troubleshoot complex compute, networking, and OS-level issues
Resilience Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery strategies
Requirements:
Active AGSVA Baseline, NV1, or NV2 security clearance
5–10+ years of hands-on experience managing complex infrastructure in both AWS and Azure environments
Strong knowledge of IaaS services across both platforms, including VMs, storage accounts, load balancers, and NSGs
Advanced hands-on experience with Terraform Enterprise and GitHub Actions
Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes
Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Strong Linux administration skills
Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, and Problem Management)
A degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
Nice to have:
AWS or Azure certifications (Administrator, DevOps, or Solutions Architect)
Proven success working within government or other highly regulated, secure sectors
