Cloud-Native Telecom Services Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to support and maintain cloud-native telecom service applications within Vodafone Network Operations. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of services deployed in VNF/CNF environments. The individual will collaborate closely with global vendors and internal development teams while contributing to service rollouts, incident resolution, and continuous operational improvement in a 24x7 service environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Support and maintain service applications deployed on cloud-native platforms (VNF/CNF)
  • Collaborate with vendors (Nokia, CelFocus, HP, ComTech) and internal teams (Fusion) to resolve operational issues
  • Monitor service performance proactively and ensure high availability through effective incident management
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for service assurance
  • Manage vendor SLAs, audits, and compliance activities
  • Contribute to new service introduction, testing, and rollout in cloud environments
  • Perform root cause analysis for service issues and implement corrective actions
  • Document operational procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues and frontline teams
  • Stay updated and adapt to emerging technologies such as NFV, SDN, and Cloud IMS

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native service applications (VNF/CNF)
  • Strong knowledge of core voice and data networking (IMS, CS Core, EPC)
  • Familiarity with virtualisation and containerisation tools such as VMware, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Understanding of telecom protocols including SIP, Diameter, SS7, SIGTRAN, and HTTP/S
  • Experience working in multi-vendor environments and managing vendor relationships
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems and scripting (Python or Bash preferred)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Computer Engineering
  • 8–12 years of experience in telecom service operations (cloud-native environments preferred)
  • Relevant certifications in networking or cloud technologies (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, Kubernetes, VMware) are advantageous
