Job Description:

This position ensures installation, upgrade, change control, real-time monitoring, accuracy, coordination, troubleshooting, problem resolution, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) architecture, design and planning for systems supported. Experience with industry leading scripting/automation toolsets and product suites. 24x7 availability in an OnCall rotation is required. This position requires comprehensive knowledge within a functional area. Work is performed under general direction and is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and to ensure compliance with processes, standards and policies of the organization. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult and complex problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with the objective of the organization. May train and mentor less experienced professionals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as a primary resource for the design, administration and monitoring of our physical and cloud-based Infrastructure systems and technologies
  • Maintain understanding of future direction of technologies and products for application or IT systems supported
  • Analyze, administer, modify, configure and lead patch management for multiple, complex, and/or advanced operating systems
  • Design, implement and provide real time support and updates for servers and datacenters
  • Plan or support all phases of moderately complex projects
  • Implement consistent project management processes and standards for area of specialization
  • Provide project cost estimates for consideration in functional budget
  • Provide input to planning groups on the impact of prospective upgrades and work effort required
  • Perform impact analysis of new or expanding systems and coordinate with personnel to determine upgrades necessary to meet service level requirements
  • Ensure a high degree of accuracy, coordination and administration of respective data centers, systems and applications
  • Assist in coordination, and monitoring of systems and system software for problems or needed modifications
  • Install and upgrade application & infrastructure systems (i.e. operating systems, storage systems, Data Center hardware) independently
  • Maintain systems including installation of patches, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and tuning
  • Establish, test, and implement procedures for application or data backup and recovery
  • Develop, test, implement, and maintain disaster recovery infrastructure, plans and procedures
  • Provide direction to less experience administrators or technicians on department processes and complex technical issues
  • Provide 24x7 coverage via an OnCall rotation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, and/or related discipline (or additional three (3) years' directly related experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Minimum of five (5) years' of directly related experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies 2016, 2019, 2022 including installation, support and management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Linux server environments and OS installation & management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of most aspects of IT design & administration for on-prem, private cloud and public cloud solutions
  • Comprehensive experience with multiple toolsets and technologies: Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office 365, Windows Severs, Linux Servers, AWS SysOps, VMware vSphere (ESXi)/NSX, Dell Hardware, Rubrik, Solarwinds monitoring, Azure, AWS, other Cloud based computing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts, such as TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DevOps toolsets, such as GitHub, Terraform and Ansible
  • Strong analytical skills and experience
  • ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex problems
  • Ability to coordinate the work of third-parties
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
  • Ability to distill data and analysis into high-level reports and summaries
