We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help manage and improve our client's production AWS environment. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an intermediate professional to take the next step in their career, focusing on security, governance, and high availability. Working within a collaborative, cross-functional team, you will help advance our DevOps maturity through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation. You will be responsible for managing work end-to-end with guidance from senior peers, ensuring our infrastructure is scalable, cost-effective, and secure.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and improve highly available AWS environments, including EC2, RDS, VPC, and S3
Maintain and deploy infrastructure using tools like AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform
Support PostgreSQL administration, including maintenance, performance tuning, and geospatial extensions (PostGIS)
Implement security best practices across AWS IAM, network isolation, and security groups
Build and support automated pipelines using GitHub and Python
Monitor AWS cost considerations and support cross-region disaster recovery practices
Requirements:
Proven ability to manage core services (EC2, S3, VPC) using (or willing to learn) AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation
Solid understanding of DevOps, implementing CI/CD, and Python scripting for automation
Experience in PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning and exposure to geospatial extensions like PostGIS is highly regarded
Experience with (or interest in) supporting AWS AppStream and Workspace environments for application delivery
Familiarity with geospatial software systems (e.g., ESRI, QGIS, CARIS) and an interest in applying cloud solutions to hydrographic or maritime domains
Ability to work effectively in an Agile team environment with an understanding of ITIL practices and structured service management
A collaborative, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage your own workload and communicate technical roadmaps to diverse stakeholders
Nice to have:
Familiarity with geospatial software systems (e.g., ESRI, QGIS, CARIS) and an interest in applying cloud solutions to hydrographic or maritime domains
