We are looking for a data-driven Cloud FinOps Analyst to join a high-priority Government project. This role is essential for driving financial accountability and optimising multi-cloud expenditure across AWS and Azure environments. You will work at the intersection of finance, engineering, and operations to ensure every dollar spent in the cloud delivers maximum value.
Job Responsibility:
Financial Governance & Analysis: Conduct deep-dive reviews of cloud usage and expenditure to identify waste and ensure total alignment with project budgets
Forecasting & Budgeting: Predict future cloud spend based on historical trends and upcoming project milestones, providing stakeholders with actionable budgetary roadmaps
Resource Optimisation: Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, such as instance right-sizing, managing Reserved Instances (RIs), and implementing Savings Plans or Spot Instances
Automation & Data Engineering: Use scripting and coding to retrieve, manipulate, and collate platform data. You will automate logic/queries and deploy tagging or configuration changes via CI/CD pipelines
Reporting & Dashboards: Develop clear, high-impact financial reports and dashboards that translate complex cloud data into insights for executive decision-makers
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, operations, and finance teams to implement chargeback/showback models and robust cost-allocation frameworks
Requirements:
Current AGSVA Baseline, NV1, or NV2 security clearance
3–10 years of experience managing cloud financials in complex, enterprise-scale environments
High proficiency in AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Budgets, and Usage Reports
Extensive experience with services including S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, and Trusted Advisor
Proven expertise in tagging frameworks, cost allocation, and financial governance within the Cloud Adoption Framework
Proficiency in scripting (Python/Bash) to automate cost-monitoring logic and interact with cloud APIs
Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, and Problem Management)
Nice to have:
AWS or Azure Solutions Architect Associate/Professional certification
Prior experience in government or highly regulated environments
Familiarity with official FinOps Foundation best practices
