As one of Cloud Engineers, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with development teams, operations teams, and other stakeholders to enhance system resiliency, automate processes, and improve overall system reliability. This role is based in Canberra, ACT and supports Federal Government client environments, requiring an Australian Citizen with AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
Job Responsibility
Deliver cloud development activities working with relevant stakeholders and technical resources – both internal and external
Interacts with clients on site to meet more complex requirements of a solution
Escalates unresolved problems and issues to the Technical Lead and relevant third parties
Mentor and coach other engineers to foster knowledge sharing, skill development, and best practice adoption across the team
Writes reports and proposals and complete and maintain project documentation
Included in complex design work, with input to the design expected
Expected to take ownership of relevant technologies according to domain or specialization
Maintains and develops Infrastructure as Code for a range of different systems
Supports Java applications running in a Linux environment
Performance Tuning
Works in a diverse team across a wide range of different technologies and systems
Automates processes and building self service capabilities
Delivers and builds services and technologies including but not limited to Microsoft Azure
Periodically collaborates to develop and implement operational improvements
Leverages experience with cloud native tools to review metrics and monitor the health/utilisation of agency’s cloud services
Maintains skills and contemporary practice in the applicable technology stack
Requirements
Demonstrated practical experience, and understanding of Cloud Implementations, Microsoft Azure PROTECTED cloud environments is mandatory
ElasticSearch experience
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell
Troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment or Java Development experience
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (preferably Ansible and ARM)
Ability to work full time from client premises in Canberra
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) preferred
Nice to have
Experience mentoring team members is desirable
Knowledge of the products in some of the following technology stack: Azure Bicep, Terraform, HBase/HDFS (HDInsight), Neo4j, Kafka, NiFi, Kibana, Logstash, GraphQL, Redis, WSO2 Identity Server (or similar), WSO2 API Manager (or similar), PostgreSQL (or similar), React (or similar), Java springboot, Azure big data services, Azure AD/ADFS, Azure API Manager, Azure CosmosDB
