Cap4 Lab is a growing international company active already in 6 countries (France, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and China). We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our European team. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be joining our Cloud Operations & Infrastructure Division, working closely with our Development, DevOps, and Integration Managed Services (IMS) teams. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our cloud infrastructure: from architecture design and implementation, through to day-to-day operational support—including handling tickets, incident resolution, and proactive maintenance across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Alibaba Cloud. The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity about how systems work at scale and a passion for automating everything. You will bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring our cloud environments are secure, scalable, cost-effective, and reliably supported.
Job Responsibility
Designing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures (IaaS/PaaS) on AWS, Azure, GCP, and Alibaba Cloud
Implementing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Providing operational support: handling infrastructure-related tickets, troubleshooting incidents, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs
Managing containerized environments using Docker and orchestration tools (Kubernetes/EKS/AKS)
Ensuring security best practices are applied to cloud configurations (Identity & Access Management, Network Security Groups, etc.)
Monitoring system performance, availability, and costs
optimizing resources to balance performance and budget
Troubleshooting infrastructure issues across the full stack (network, OS, application)—both proactively and in response to user-reported tickets
Participating in capacity planning and disaster recovery exercises
Collaborating with development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
Maintaining and improving the infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for support teams
Participating in an on-call schedule for critical P1 infrastructure incidents
Requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Passionate about cloud technology and infrastructure automation
Solid experience in cloud infrastructure administration across AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or Alibaba Cloud (experience with at least two is required
familiarity with Alibaba is a strong plus)
Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform is highly preferred)
Good knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration and shell scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
Deep knowledge of networking concepts (VPCs, Subnets, Firewalls, Load Balancers, DNS, VPNs)
Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles
Proven ability to work across the entire service lifecycle: design, implementation, and ongoing operational support (including ticket handling and incident response)
Able to collate and interpret data from various monitoring sources (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
Ability to assess faults, prioritise, respond and escalate accordingly
Capable of multi-tasking, good time management and prioritisation of workload
Willing to learn and develop new skills
‘Can do’ attitude
Good level of English (B1 at least)
Available to participate in roster rotations if required
Nice to have
Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, GDPR)
ITIL Knowledge
Experience managing databases in the cloud (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Alibaba ApsaraDB, etc.)
