Full Job Description Job Description / Responsibilities: • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS for enterprise applications. • Implement automation and DevOps practices for cloud operations. • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud performance and cost. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure security, compliance, and governance standards. • Provide technical guidance for cloud adoption strategies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cloud engineering, specifically AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation)
  • Prior exposure to banking or financial services environments
  • previous Absa experience advantageous
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices
  • AWS Cloud Services (5+ years)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation (3+ years)
  • Linux/Windows server administration (3+ years)
  • Scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell – 2+ years)
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline – 2+ years)

Nice to have

  • Experience with Kubernetes/EKS and Docker containers
  • Cloud cost optimization strategies
  • Security & compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC2, PCI DSS)
