We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to lead the development of a robust Azure environment within a hub-and-spoke architecture. This long-term contract position is based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and offers an exciting opportunity to design and implement scalable cloud solutions. The role involves hands-on engineering, collaboration with architects, and the supervision of a small team to deliver high-quality infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions.
Job Responsibility
Lead the creation and implementation of eight Azure subscriptions using Terraform or Bicep, following a hub-and-spoke model
Develop, maintain, and optimize infrastructure-as-code modules for a variety of services including networking, Key Vault, storage, compute, container services, and monitoring
Design, test, and execute migration and remediation scripts to support workload transitions
Oversee and guide the daily activities of two Cloud Engineers working on environment replication and build tasks
Collaborate with the Databricks vendor to ensure seamless platform integration and address infrastructure needs
Participate in architecture reviews, offering actionable feedback to align designs with implementation goals
Create detailed documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials to support long-term team operations.
Requirements
Proven experience with Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure-as-code development and deployment
Strong expertise in Azure cloud services, including subscription and resource group management
Familiarity with scripting languages and tools for automation and migration tasks
Experience leading cross-tenant Azure migrations or infrastructure carve-outs, particularly in M&A contexts
Skilled in supervising and mentoring technical teams to achieve project goals
Knowledgeable in integrating Databricks and other third-party platforms into cloud environments
Proficiency in Ansible, AWS technologies, and auto-scaling solutions, including Amazon EC2.
