Job Description

At Paymentology, we’re redefining what’s possible in the payments space. As the first truly global issuer-processor, we give banks and fintechs the technology and talent to launch and manage Mastercard and Visa cards at scale - across more than 60 countries. Our advanced, multi-cloud platform delivers real-time data, unmatched scalability, and the flexibility of shared or dedicated processing instances. It's this global reach and innovation that sets us apart. We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer (GCP) to design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure powering our global payments platform. As a senior technical specialist, you will own cloud architecture decisions across Google Cloud Platform, contribute to multi-cloud implementations, and ensure our infrastructure meets strict performance, security, and regulatory requirements. If you're an expert in GCP, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code, and thrive in complex, high-availability environments, this is your opportunity to shape the future of cloud infrastructure in a truly global fintech environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure cloud architectures on Google Cloud Platform
  • Define, implement, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform to ensure repeatable and reliable deployments
  • Architect, build, and support multi-cloud environments aligned with business and platform strategy
  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls aligned with PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and other regulatory standards
  • Maintain cloud migration initiatives from on-premises environments to GCP, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance
  • Continuously optimize cloud environments for cost efficiency, scalability, observability, and resilience
  • Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes (GKE) clusters and Kafka platforms to support distributed, high-throughput systems

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure engineering roles
  • Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform and cloud-native architecture principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Terraform and modern DevOps tooling for Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD automation
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance tuning, and cloud security best practices
  • Experience operating in regulated, high-availability, or payments environments
  • Ability to operate autonomously as a trusted technical owner, solving complex, multi-system challenges and influencing cloud standards across teams
  • Strong understanding of GCP global architecture including Regions, Zones, and Global VPC design
  • Strong IAM expertise covering roles, service accounts, and least privilege implementation
  • Ability to design scalable VPC architectures including hub-and-spoke and Shared VPC models
  • Good networking fundamentals including subnets, routing, and GCP firewall rule configuration

Nice to have

  • Good to have experience with APIGEE/API gateway
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and Kafka in production environments
