As a Cloud Engineer - AWS IoT, you will design, build, and operate cloud solutions on AWS, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security. You will implement data-focused AWS services, develop automation scripts, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for success in this role.
Job Responsibility:
Design, provision, and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure for production environments
Independently manage production AWS accounts with privileged access, following security and governance best practices
Implement and maintain AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, EKS, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Step Functions
Build and manage S3-based data lakes with appropriate security, lifecycle, and access controls
Design and implement infrastructure using Terraform (modules, state management, reusable patterns)
Enforce IaC standards for multi-account and multi-environment setups
Perform code reviews and ensure IaC is production-ready, secure, and scalable
Design and manage IAM roles, policies, permission boundaries, and trust relationships
Handle superuser-level access in production, ensuring least privilege and auditability
Implement encryption, key management, logging, and monitoring controls
Partner with cybersecurity teams to meet enterprise compliance standards
Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools
Integrate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and security scans into CI/CD workflows
Automate operational tasks using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
Build and operate data pipelines using AWS Glue, Athena, Lambda, and related services
Support and operate ML workloads using SageMaker
Work with or support Databricks environments (deployment, integration, security, or operations)
Collaborate closely with data engineering and analytics teams
Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar tools
Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
Requirements:
5–6+ years of hands-on Cloud Engineering experience (not support-only roles)
Strong, hands-on AWS experience in production environments
Proven expertise in Terraform (advanced level)
Proven expertise in AWS IAM (roles, policies, governance)
Proven expertise in CI/CD pipelines
Proven expertise in S3, Glue, Athena
Experience supporting production systems with elevated access
Strong scripting skills (Python preferred)
Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex environments
Nice to have:
Hands-on experience with Databricks
Hands-on experience with AWS SageMaker
AWS certifications (Associate or Professional)
Experience in enterprise or regulated environments
Exposure to multi-account or large-scale AWS architectures
