Requirements

5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Systems Engineering roles
Proven experience managing cloud-based compute environments using VPCs, EC2-like compute instances, S3-style object storage, and container orchestration platforms
Proficiency in scripting and automation (C/C++, Python, Bash, PowerShell, PHP/SQL)
Experience in managing JupyterHub or similar multi-user environments
Knowledge of HPC systems, parallel computing, and simulation software environments
Familiarity deploying and managing workloads across large-scale cloud environments with capabilities such as virtual networking, resource grouping, object/blob storage, and identity management services
Exposure to IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
Understanding of networking, VPNs, and secure data exchange between cloud and on-prem environments

Job Responsibility

Work alongside our managed service provider to deploy and configure Realta Fusion’s HPC cluster in modern cloud compute environments using scalable virtual networks, compute instances, and object-storage services
Support and manage secure cloud compute infrastructure for export-controlled projects, ensuring compliance and data protection
Automate provisioning and scaling of HPC resources using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
Manage and monitor performance of compute clusters, virtual machines, and storage solutions
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support simulation software builds and deployments
Implement identity management, security controls, and role-based access across cloud environments
Install, configure and maintain key simulation software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, OpenMC, and related dependencies
Collaborate with scientists and engineers to optimize workloads for cloud-based HPC environments
Build observability tools for resource usage, cost management, and job scheduling
Integrate with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS Batch, Slurm) for simulation jobs

Job Responsibility

Driving the security strategy for the entire engineering organisation towards Zero Trust principles
Take ownership of the cloud network security roadmap. This involves discovery, tracking, prioritising, and remediation of risks ensuring continuous improvement of network security posture
Perform threat modelling and provide secure coding guidance to development teams, and embedding security requirements early in the design phase
Govern and configure WAF and network security solutions to protect from real-time attacks
Proactively build operational capability to detect and drive remediation of security incidents before they happen
Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable Terraform and Python code ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability
Continuously stay on top of an evolving network security landscape, promoting best practices and fostering a proactive security mindset throughout the organisation
Collaborate with stakeholders including IT security, product managers, and engineering teams to effectively communicate security concerns and mitigate risks
Lead and independently complete cloud network security initiatives from start to finish
Analyse complex problems and provide effective solutions, contributing to team goals and initiatives
