The AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native infrastructure and DevOps practices to enable scalable, secure, and high-performing applications on AWS. This role plays a critical part in accelerating software delivery, improving system reliability, and driving automation across the development lifecycle. Working closely with engineering, architecture, and platform teams, the AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer ensures that cloud environments are resilient, cost-efficient, and aligned to best practices. The role requires a strong combination of cloud engineering expertise, automation skills, and a continuous improvement mindset to support modern, agile, and product-centric delivery models.
Job Responsibility
Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure AWS cloud environments
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK
Manage core AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFront
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and configuration management
Promote DevOps best practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous testing
Monitor system performance using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
Implement logging, tracing, and alerting to ensure system reliability and rapid incident response
Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system resilience
Implement cloud security best practices including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security
Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards through automation and policy enforcement
Embed security into the DevOps lifecycle (DevSecOps principles)
Work closely with software engineers, architects, and product teams to support application delivery
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog prioritization and sprint delivery
Provide technical guidance on cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices
Stay current with evolving AWS services and DevOps tooling
Identify opportunities to improve deployment speed, reliability, and developer experience
Contribute to reusable frameworks, templates, and internal best practices
Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and architecture patterns
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release management
Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS)
Experience with scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, or similar)
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability practices
Understanding of cloud security, networking, and compliance
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems
Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams
Nice to have
AWS certifications highly desirable, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
Additional certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or DevOps tools advantageous
