The AIDA tower is a strategic unit focused on helping local markets migrate and optimize their cloud solutions. We are seeking a Cloud Data Solutions Architect to lead the end-to-end design of secure, scalable, and highly optimized data platforms across a multi-cloud environment. This role requires a strategic vison to explain to all the stakeholders the complex architectural designs and guide the team to create a solution. You will be responsible for guiding the migration of legacy data systems to the cloud and evolve and optimize the existing solution. The cost-optimization (FinOps) principles, and the security need to be included into every design, and establishing the governance and technical blueprints that will empower our engineering teams to build autonomously
Job Responsibility
Understand the data, and how to model them inside the BI environment to create values from information, ensuring data quality
Lead the end-to-end design and architecture of secure, scalable, and optimized data platforms across hybrid and multi-cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
Design and implement decentralized data mesh architectures, establishing robust data contracts to verify formats, ensure data quality, and prevent unnecessary data replication
Drive the strategic migration of legacy on-premises systems (such as Teradata, Oracle, and Exadata) to modern cloud data hubs, ensuring minimal disruption to existing systems
Drive the technical feasibility analysis and provide high-level effort estimations (resource, time, and complexity) for local market cloud migrations, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budget constraints
Establish new data interaction patterns for complex multi-cloud environments, such as optimizing direct cloud-to-cloud data movement to enhance latency and reduce costs
Embed FinOps principles directly into the technical design phase, ensuring that cost efficiency is a conscious consideration and a critical metric for business value
Take ownership of optimizing compute capacity and resource allocation (e.g., transitioning to slot reservations and implementing dynamic scaling in BigQuery) to manage fluctuating demands efficiently
Make the data model sustainable from ETL and performance point of view
Work with business users to ensure we can support and anticipate company's data needs
Design and implement AI-powered data solutions
Recommend approaches, lead design and create solid technical solutions for complex business scenarios
Requirements
Experience in the end-to-end design and architecture of scalable data platforms in hybrid and multi-cloud environments (preferably GCP, AWS, Azure)
Experience / collaboration in BI pipeline design projects
Deep knowledge of modern data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL/ELT orchestration
Strong foundation in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and cloud security best practices (e.g., principle of least privilege, data encryption)
Proven track record in FinOps, including cloud cost forecasting, resource rightsizing, and optimizing compute capacity (e.g., Big Query slot allocation)
Experience in leading complex cloud migrations from legacy on-premises systems (e.g., Teradata, Oracle) to modern cloud hubs
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering and/or other STEM degrees
Cloud certifications
Working experience in similar roles
Attitude to plan and organize work to deliver project as agreed
Great communication skills and stakeholder’s management
Fluent English (both speaking and writing) and optional Spanish
(Preferred) Knowledge of Cloud Data Architecture for Data Warehousing
Proactive in the day by day working tasks and attitude in acquiring new skills
