Job Description

Clinical Veterinarians are part of a dynamic, collaborative team supporting the health and wellbeing of non-human primates in a modern research environment. This is a hands-on clinical role with real responsibility, strong peer support, and the opportunity to work at the intersection of medicine, science, and animal welfare.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide high-quality clinical care, including examinations, diagnostics, treatments, surgery, and follow-up
  • Support colony health and wellness programs for assigned primate populations
  • Work alongside skilled veterinary technicians
  • Collaborate with investigators and internal teams on animal care and procedural planning
  • Participate in protocol review and animal care and use committees
  • Contribute to the planning and growth of new programs and facilities
  • Coordinate with Managers and Directors to support colony and project needs

Requirements

  • DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited veterinary medical college
  • Licensed in at least one U.S. state, with the ability to obtain South Carolina licensure within 60 days
  • Eligible for DEA licensure
  • ACLAM eligibility or diplomate status is strongly preferred, but not required

Nice to have

  • Laboratory animal or research experience is a plus, but not required
  • Prior experience with non-human primates is not required
