Our Clinical Therapists provide person-centered services that promote improved relationships, overall well-being, and healing from trauma, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practices. Under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) and the Program Manager, the Clinical Therapist supports the delivery of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) services in alignment with the standards and scope of practice outlined by the College of Psychologists of Ontario/College of Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO). This position plays an essential role in supporting individuals within our MCCSS-funded programs, including the Ontario Autism Program – Urgent Response Services (OAP-URS) and the Extensive Needs Service. Working within a multidisciplinary team and under appropriate supervision, the Clinical Therapist assists in conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized behaviour support plans, and collaborating with families and community partners to ensure coordinated and responsive care. This role requires flexibility in scheduling to respond to the urgent and complex needs of the individuals and families we serve.
Job Responsibility:
Support the completion of comprehensive, strength-based, and relationship-centered assessments under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA)
Provide supports and services through the Ontario Autism Program-Urgent Response (OAP-UR), Ontario Autism Program – Core Clinical Services, and MCCSS funded Behavioural Services under the supervision of an RBA
Assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) tailored to each client’s unique needs, under the supervision of an RBA
Provide direct ABA therapy to clients under the supervision of an RBA in various settings, including homes, and community environments
Support the implementation of Behaviour Support Plans using a trauma-informed and positive systems approach
Provide on-site trauma informed behaviour consultation or workshops under the supervision of an RBA to service providers in the community
Provide training and support to families and caregivers on implementing behavior strategies and interventions at home under the supervision of an RBA
Monitor client progress under the supervision of an RBA through data collection, analysis, and ongoing assessment
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including assessment reports, treatment plans, and progress notes
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards
Assist in the development of training materials and resources for staff and families
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a social science or human services field and/or 3-year college diploma in social science or human services field with 2 years clinical experience in a social service setting (that is deemed by Willowbridge as equivalent to a Bachelor degree)
Demonstrated experience in the application of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles and strategies to support individuals with diverse needs
Experience with individuals with a developmental disability and a dual diagnosis
Knowledge and understanding of trauma and intergenerational trauma and its effects on attachment
Understanding of the service delivery system in the not-for-profit sector
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently
Ability to handle multiple demands in manner that facilitates
Proficient competency with Microsoft Office and Client Database
