Job Description

Provides individual, couple and family therapy services utilizing a solution focused, brief therapy framework. Provides clinical supervision and completes administrative recordkeeping. Actively participates in agency and training activities.

Job Responsibility

  • Provides individual, couple and family therapy services utilizing a solution focused, brief therapy framework
  • Interviews and evaluates patients, establishes diagnosis, and monitors patients’ behavior
  • Develops treatment plan collaboratively with the patient
  • Provides case management, outreach and aftercare services
  • Counsels crisis patients to stabilize condition
  • Develops and leads at least one treatment and/or skills building group
  • Utilizes and teaches appropriate cognitive/behavior management and skill building techniques
  • Communicates with other agency programs and/or human service agencies
  • Provides supervision of diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and treatment process
  • Completes various administrative and insurance forms
  • Maintains concise comprehensive case records
  • Participates in quality assurance, accreditation, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities

Requirements

  • Doctoral in Psychology
  • 2 years experience in a mental health or related setting
  • Clinically appropriate skills
  • Courteous and professional
  • Demonstrates keyboard skills and familiarity with a Windows environment
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Willing to work towards licensure and/or certification
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
  • Works at least 6 evening (6pm or later) and/or Saturday hours each week
  • Provides coverage for evening and weekend programming as necessary

Nice to have

  • Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
  • Familiarity with the roles and functioning of other providers in the network of child and family mental health and substance abuse treatment networks
