An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated, and compassionate individual to join our Safeguarding Support Unit. We are looking for someone who is committed to delivering high-quality care and supporting vulnerable children, young people, and their families. This role provides essential support to the South Yorkshire SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre).
Job Responsibility:
Providing clerical and administrative support
Carry out a range of individualised clinical care duties delegated by qualified nurses, medical staff, or other members of the multidisciplinary team
Support children, young people, and their families throughout their care journey
Managing stock and maintaining supplies
Cleaning, caring for, and monitoring specialist equipment
Supporting the delivery of high-quality, family-centred care
Working closely with parents, carers, and the multi-disciplinary team
Participate in the out-of-hours/on-call rota, covering the forensic SARC service 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year
Requirements:
GCSE A-C English or Level 2 equivalent
GCSE A-C Maths or Level 2 equivalent
Vocational Award Level 2 in Health
To have or be committed to undertaking & completing a Vocational Award Level 3 in Health
To have experience in a Care or Health & Social Care environment within a hospital or community setting
Worked in a customer facing environment
Worked with children and young people
Knowledge of Health & Safety and maintaining a safe environment
Knowledge of Safeguarding children or young adults
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Infection Control principles
IT skills which include competency at using Microsoft Word and email and inputting data
Ability to work with children, young people, their families and carers
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Ability to show initiative and take on own responsibility and accountability and work independently
Ability to prioritise workload and own time
Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
Ability to respond to unpredictable care events e.g. emergency situations
Willingness to work flexibly in approach and working hours/pattern
Display a non-judgmental attitude towards children / families / carers / colleagues

Ability to accept instructions & supervision and undertake delegated tasks
Nice to have:
Training and demonstrable competency in nursing observations e.g. temperature, weight and height monitoring, urinalysis, pulse oximetry and dinamaps
Worked within the National Health Service
Worked within a SARC
Worked with children and young people who have experienced trauma
Compliance of Policies and Procedures in a regulated Health Care Provider
Be competent in taking blood venously and capillary or working towards this. You will have further training in this area
Advanced IT skills ie Level 2 IT qualification
Current Food hygiene certificate
Previously worked in a Health / Social Care multidisciplinary team setting and contributed in team meetings
Previously worked in a flexible working pattern environment
Compliance of Policies and Procedures in reference to Equality and Diversity
