An exciting opportunity has arisen in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust's (CNTW) North Cumbria Locality. The role will be for a clinical support assistant, Memory and Later Life Services, Lilyhall Business Centre in Workington. This role will include supporting a caseload of mainly older adults in the community who have various mental health problems including dementia, depression, anxiety, psychosis as well as complex emotional needs. The role involves supporting clinicians to deliver evidence based treatment and to engage in collaborative working across the multi-agency team.
Job Responsibility:
To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of care needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, cognitive/and or learning disabilities under the direction of a registered practitioner.
To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.
To support the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in the trust policies.
You may be required to facilitate groups. Such as carer groups, Cognitive stimulation therapy sessions, recovery through activity etc.
Requirements:
GCSE A-C in maths and English or equivalent
Senior Healthcare Support Worker or equivalent or working towards
Experience of working/ volunteering in an appropriate care setting
Ability to meet the mobility and geographical requirements of the post
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
ICT Functional skills
Ability to develop the skills of others and to contribute to a learning environment
Nice to have:
Experience of working within a relevant clinical service
Previous experience in a community setting.
Experience of involving service users/ carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services
