Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the Neurological Rehabilitation Outpatient Department on a fixed-term contract for 12 months, working full time (37.5 hours per week). The post will be based at Walkergate Park but may require travel to outreach clinics across the region. You will play a key role in supporting the daily running of the department and assisting within outpatient clinics. This post offers an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist neuro rehabilitation service as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the day to day running of the Neuro-Rehabilitation Outpatient department
  • Deliver high quality, patient centred care
  • Undertake physical health observations and basic assessments as required
  • Moving and handling of patients and equipment
  • Assisting patients with personal care and hand hygiene
  • To be involved in non-clinical tasks such as departmental admin, audits and linking with supply chains

Requirements:

  • Senior Healthcare Support Worker or commitment to work towards
  • 5 GCSE grades 4 and/or above including English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working with/caring for people with a Neurological Condition
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Experience/competent in moving and handling people
  • Competent in standard basic keyboard/computer skills

Nice to have:

  • Competent in carrying out physical observations eg BP monitoring
  • Competent in phlebotomy
