Job Description:

The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for providing social work services to oncology patients and their families, as a member of a multidisciplinary team and in accordance with Emanate Health's social work policy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing social work services to oncology patients and their families
  • Conducts psycho social assessment
  • Conducts social history and provides supportive counseling to individuals and patient/families
  • Collaborates with outside providers
  • Minimizes patient anxiety concerning illness and facilitates community resources and referrals
  • Interacts with and supplements the health care team
  • Develops and leads oncology support groups for patients and caregivers
  • May provide supervision to the students
  • Willing and able to travel to multiple worksites

Requirements:

  • MSW is required from an accredited School of Social Work
  • Two years of experience working in an oncology or hospice environment is preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • BLS required
  • Certified Oncology Social Worker (OSW-C) preferred

Nice to have:

  • Two years of experience working in an oncology or hospice environment
