Then we’ve got the perfect role for you. About the role: We’re looking for compassionate, organised, and adaptable administrators to join our friendly Clinical Administration Team at Ashgate Hospice. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting Community Services, the Inpatient Unit (IPU), and Main Reception. Working as part of a planned rotational rota, you’ll play an important role in helping patients, families, visitors, and clinical teams receive a professional, seamless, and compassionate service. No two days are the same. You may be welcoming visitors on reception, supporting patient admissions and discharges within the IPU, processing referrals, updating patient records, or coordinating communication across services. Whatever the task, your work will directly support high-quality patient care. You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team who work closely together to ensure services run smoothly in what can sometimes be a fast-paced and emotionally sensitive environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide high-quality administrative and reception support across Community Services, IPU Administration, and Main Reception
  • Process referrals, maintain accurate patient records, and support clinical systems
  • Act as a first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, and healthcare professionals
  • Support patient pathways through effective coordination and communication
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent and compassionate service delivery

Requirements

  • Experience in an administrative, reception, or customer-focused role
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment
  • Professional and compassionate approach when supporting patients and families
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and electronic systems
  • Understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive information
  • A flexible and team-focused approach
