Job Description:

Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Clinical Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Birch Abbey Nursing Home, Alexandra Road, Southport, working DAYS or NIGHTS - 8am - 8pm OR 8pm - 8am. Birch Abbey is a Nursing home catering for up to 60 residents. The home specialises in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing the care team within the Home
  • Ensuring that care staff are adhering to CQC guidelines whilst providing exceptional levels of care to residents
  • Promoting and delivering high standards of care
  • Supervising and instructing less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care provided within the Home

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Previous experience working within an elderly care setting
  • Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
  • Team player but able to work on your own initiative
  • Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home
  • Previous supervisory experience within a care/nursing home setting and experience of working with the elderly and willingness to undertake mandatory clinical training for the role
  • An NVQ level 3 in health & social care is required
