The Clinical Research Fellow in Point-of-Care MRI will join an innovative team of imaging specialists and clinical researchers developing both new research and enabling access to imaging and expertise in support of a vibrant research community. This role will design and implement research programs that grow the clinical and research impact of point-of-care brain MRI. SAHMRI’s priority projects in cerebrovascular health, traumatic injury or the role of portable imaging in improving health equity.
Job Responsibility:
Provide expert knowledge in disease pathophysiology and existing health care system approaches to cardiovascular and neurological disease
Contribute to ULF research strategies by offering innovative ideas, reviewing literature and engaging with clinician end users through scoping and engagement
Lead project management including coordinating with heath providers, executing project tasks, managing ethical review, and relationships with regulatory and industry bodies
Represent the ULF program through presenting at workshops, seminars, meetings and conferences
Drive collaborations with clinician-researchers, academic and non-academic partners, and peak bodies at local and national levels to improve ULF research output
Show program impact through scientific publication or changes in practice
Contribute to competitive funding applications, scientific publications and reporting of research activity
Requirements:
Eligibility to work in South Australia
Undergraduate medical degree or postgraduate qualifications in an allied field with clinical experience
At least two years working in a predominantly clinical or clinical research environment
Experience related to any of general practice, public health, medical imaging, stroke, neurology or cardiovascular disease
Appreciation of embedded clinical research methods
Understanding of public health systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, engagement and presentation skills
Ability to work independently under project pressure with timeframes and budget
Skills in report writing and presentations
Project management skills including timely delivery of outputs, monitoring and resolving issues
Desire to contribute to a common purpose with willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges
Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-motivated
