Beam is seeking a highly motivated co-op student to join our Clinical Pharmacology team from July through December 2026. The co-op will be responsible for putting together a pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) framework of one of our programs by combining and analyzing data from both nonclinical and clinical studies to support decision making in our clinical trials. The position has a role in translational sciences and allows the candidate to learn from and leverage the experience of experts in multiple departments for understanding a wide array of data while providing a window into the key steps behind making and supporting decisions in clinical trials with data.
Job Responsibility:
Work with a multidisciplinary team to identify the PK and PD data from existing studies that are most important to the therapeutic area
Determine the appropriate analysis approach based on study design to illustrate the key relationships between PK and PD
Develop a framework describing the key PK-PD relationship that would be useful for decision making based on a review of the clinical study design
Maintain and document data and workflows used in the analysis
Work with multidisciplinary teams to educate and explain the underlying approach and analysis supporting the decision making
Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in Pharmacology, Bioengineering, Biology (with an interest in ODEs), or a related field with an interest in translational medicine, pharmacometrics, or clinical pharmacology
Knowledge of pharmacokinetic analysis, compartmental modeling, and data analysis
Demonstrated experience working with datasets from multiple sources (manipulation, visualization) to develop hypotheses of the underlying relationships between independent and dependent data
Motivation to learn new physiology and pharmacology and to apply techniques of analysis to understand data
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting college or university program and maintain their student status throughout the duration of the internship/co-op to be eligible
