This position interprets provider orders and prescriptions, compounds and dispenses medications within regulatory guidelines and professional standards. This is a PRN position (5 shifts scheduled in a 6-week period). This position is used to cover call-offs, vacations, and where coverage may be needed. PRN is not eligible for benefits but does offer a 15% differential on top of the base rate of pay. Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:30pm, Weekends 8:00am - 12:00pm

Job Responsibility:

  • Interprets provider orders and prescriptions
  • Compounds and dispenses medications within regulatory guidelines and professional standards
  • Consults with patients and others regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions
  • Provides drug information to patients, health care workers and others
  • Provides oversight and supervision of pharmacy technicians and other supporting staff including directing work flow
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in area of practice.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Science or Pharm D required
  • Active Pharmacist license in the state you are practicing required
  • 1 year hospital experience strongly preferred
  • PGY-1 or BCPS preferred
  • ACLS Preferred
  • May be required to be on-call in certain situations.
