We are seeking a dedicated and clinically driven Clinical Pharmacist to join our growing hospital pharmacy team. In this role, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication therapy for our patients. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing, verifying, preparing, and dispensing medication orders while providing clinical guidance and medication-related support across the organization. This position plays an important role in patient safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, pharmacy operations, and clinical initiatives, including support of the pharmacy residency program. Job Responsibility:
Review, verify, and dispense medication orders in accordance with hospital policies and clinical best practices
Provide pharmaceutical care and evidence-based medication recommendations to physicians, nurses, and clinical staff
Monitor medication therapies for safety, appropriateness, interactions, dosing accuracy, and therapeutic effectiveness
Serve as a medication resource for healthcare providers and patients
Supervise and verify the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, and pharmacy students
Support clinical pharmacy initiatives, quality improvement projects, and pharmacy residency activities
Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient care and medication management
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and hospital pharmacy regulations
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality standards
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented pharmacy environment focused on patient safety and service excellence
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college or university required
1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency preferred
Experience in acute care, inpatient pharmacy, or clinical pharmacy settings is highly desirable
Active Massachusetts Pharmacist license required (or eligibility for reciprocity)
Board Certification preferred
Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with interdisciplinary teams
Computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy systems preferred
Ability to maintain confidential information and comply with HIPAA standards
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
