Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing leadership and clinical pharmacy services in the Critical Care setting, including the implementation of System, Region, and Facility Pharmacy Services initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide leadership and clinical pharmacy services in the Critical Care setting
  • Implement System, Region, and Facility Pharmacy Services initiatives
  • Establish and maintain clinical pharmacy programs
  • Mentor staff pharmacists
  • Educate pharmacy residents and students
  • Provide clinical pharmacy support to one or more Service Lines
  • Collaborate with facility Pharmacy leadership
  • Perform duties of a registered staff pharmacist
  • Contribute to strategic planning
  • Mentor and coach pharmacy staff
  • Educate medical staff on cost-effective, high-quality pharmaceutical care
  • Participate in relevant committees
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Precept Pharmacy Interns and Residents
  • Provide direct patient care
  • Document clinical activities and interventions
  • Interpret medication orders and prescriptions
  • Verify and check medications
  • Communicate drug information
  • Resolve drug-related problems
  • Utilize automated systems
  • Provide guidance to pharmacy technicians
  • Participate in orientation and training
  • Provide patient counseling
  • Serve as Residency Program Director (if applicable)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Residency completion or 3 years of clinical experience
  • ICU experience highly desired
  • Active State Pharmacist License in good standing with the WSDOH
  • Board Certification (e.g. BCCP, BCPS) required within 3 years of hire
  • BLS-CPR
  • ACLS
