Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the daily operation and decision-making process pertinent to clinical pharmacy programs
  • Provide expertise during Pharmacy Quality of Care (PQOC) meetings and partner with contracted Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) on formulary management requirements to ensure members receive therapeutically appropriate and cost-effective medication therapy
  • Educate providers on the utilization of the formulary and protocols
  • Participates and provides representation of the Pharmacy Clinical Services Unit at Internal and External meetings / workgroups and acts as the PBM point person for Clinical Programs
  • Assist in auditing the PBM, subcontracted plans, and medical groups
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
  • At least 4 years of pharmacy experience or 1 years of Pharmacy Residency with 1 year of Pharmacy experience
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Team player with outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Aptitude in problem-solving and decision-making
  • Strong professional ethics
  • Solid knowledge of drug administration and health & safety guidelines
  • Knowledge of the processes and methods to collect, evaluate, prepare and submit information for Adverse Event (AE) reports of post-marketed products
  • ability to write reports following relevant guidelines and submit them to regulatory agencies
  • Knowledge of principals related to pharmaceutical preparation and practices (formulas, rules, working processes of medicine preparation)
