Job Description:

Under general supervision, is responsible for the delivery and documentation of pharmaceutical care provided to patients using the medication use process (selecting, prescribing, dispensing, administration and monitoring of medications).

  • Authorize prescriptions for the pharmacy technician, performing a final check before dispensing medication to the nursing station
  • Promote long and short-range planning to respond and integrate within the market, Region, and system
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy peers to standardize clinical pharmacy systems when appropriate
  • Work, as directed by facility pharmacy leadership, on developing, coaching and mentoring pharmacy staff to maximize their scope of practice in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and scholarly activities across the continuum of care
