Baptist Health is currently seeking a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist to join our team at our Downtown campus at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center. This is a full-time, day shift position working 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. This candidate will cover our outpatient hematology clinic and support our developing Stem Cell Transplant and CAR T program. This Clinical Oncology Pharmacist will be working with the clinic ambulatory oncology team to deliver a wide variety of services to patients, including education, aiding with chemotherapy order writing, monitoring adverse events, evaluating drug—drug and drug–disease interactions, and providing supportive care. This candidate will also help develop Epic treatment protocols with an interdisciplinary team.
Job Responsibility:
Providing safe, evidence-based, cost effective, and patient centered medication management as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team
Reviewing and assessing patient medication profiles to ensure safe and appropriate use of oncology medications, including chemotherapy agents, supportive care medications, and other related therapies
Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient-specific treatment plans, monitor therapy outcomes, and make appropriate recommendations for adjustments or interventions as needed
Utilizing pharmacokinetics, dosing calculations, and identifying drug interactions specific to oncology medications
Entering orders with great accuracy
Checking technician work for accuracy prior to release of medications and solutions to the floor
Supervising technicians and serving on committees as assigned
Answering questions for all health care professionals
Serving as a consultant for members of the medical staff
Monitoring patient therapy as assigned, including pharmacokinetics service
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Pharmacist license in the State of Florida
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Registered Pharmacist
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licensed Pharmacist
1-2 years Hospital Pharmacy Experience
1-2 years Experience with Automated Dispensing Devices
Residency Training
Experience with Pharmacy Information Systems
BLS/ACLS/PALS must be obtained with 90 days of hire for those required to participate in Code Blue responses
Nice to have:
A completed PGY1 +/- PGY2 Oncology residency or comparable hospital experience
